Is investing in the cards for your future? Does that sound totally dry and really not something you’ve thought about in-depth? Once upon a time (when our parents were young adults and thinking about their first investments) you’d have to go into a bank, talk in great lengths to some generic-looking man and try and remember all the jargon words being tossed around like diversification, bonds, dividends, and volatility. Well, times have changed, in a big way!
Love fashion? Great at scouting out a deal? Then maybe your type of smart investment lies in the resale luxury market.

One of the people who has an enduring influence on fashion, handbags in particular, even decades after her death is Princess Diana. Her sense of style has always inspired designers and artists; she used fashion as her armour and weapon and still today her style is appealing to a new generation of fashionistas who learn about Lady Di through their icons like Rihanna, Hailey Bieber, Off-White’s designer Virgil Abloh, Instagram and the latest season of a TV-show “The Crown”.

We refuse to use the words “strange,” “unprecedented,” or “uncertain” one more time in 2020! But when describing this year’s holiday shopping season, let’s just say it will be like none other before in the history of holiday shopping! Mad dashes to the mall are highly discouraged, extended store hours are likely not to happen, and complete hassle-free shipping is something we can only dream about. However, going into the holiday season, there are still ways to prepare yourself as best as you can. We’ve compiled a list of nine things to keep in mind as we head through November and soon enough, December. Remember, nabbing the perfect gift for everyone on your Christmas list always feels like a home-run, but this year let’s prioritize everyone’s safety above all else!

So clearly 2020 has been nothing like we anticipated. As an extension of that, our new wardrobe looks and choices have kind of been the same way. Have you been opting for CK sports bras over your favourite sultry lace bras? Are you finding new ways to incorporate athleisure wear into going out outfits? Has that tube of mascara you bought in March lasted you into the fall? It’s okay! That’s where we’re at too!
Let’s take the shame out of low-maintenance looks and let’s embrace this new normal for what it has to offer: functional and fashionable alternatives!

If you’re like us, you’ve been reflecting, listening, and educating yourself on the current racial injustices in the world. This was sparked by the brutal murder of George Floyd in the United States and the associating protests that have happened as a result of that. We, as a world, have been made aware (again!) to the grim reality that still faces a large population of our world, simply based on the color of their skin. This MUST change and this must change now. Colonialism and its damaging effects have been a part of North American culture for over 400 years now. It affects every industry and every sector of our society. Nothing is free of the effects of racism still happening today, and the fashion industry is most definitely a part of that.

After celebrating Earth Day and looking forward to Mother’s Day, it is about time we discuss Mother Nature and how we can help her. Scrolling through social media, filled with past travels and one-wear #ootds, it seemed like the meaning of Earth Day was misinterpreted and lost. This is why we have to take actions in order to protect our Mother Nature from disastrous climate change and destruction. In this month's blog post, we will discuss how we can easily do it and what role companies like Lux Second Chance play in this.

You’ve heard about it on the news, you’ve seen people sharing information about it all over social media. Although it is possible to avoid COVID-19 with physical precautions, it seems virtually impossible to avoid it everywhere else. It has consumed all mainstream media and the thoughts of basically the entire population at this point. It seemed inconceivable to write a blog this month without mentioning COVID-19 as every—and we really mean every—sector of the world is being affected by it.

For this International Women’s Day we wanted to celebrate women’s impact on our planet in terms of sustainability and luxury fashion. It has been discussed in media, and Green Peace has reported that “feminism and environmentalism go hand in hand. Together, they provide a way out of the current global crisis.” Notably, it is mostly female activists, fashion designers, influencers and writers who take on action to carry the message of importance of eco-consciousness to consumers. Below we are going to focus on a few great women, who make their impact on such a hot topic.

Get out your finest reds and pinks, your cheesiest pickup lines, and your cliché date ideas, because it’s that time of the year again boys and girls: Valentine’s Day! Or maybe we should use the more inclusive alternatives, Galentine’s Day or Palentine’s Day. Whatever which way you decide to celebrate February 14th, whether it’s love-theme or anti-love theme (see Jessica Biel’s character from the 2010 film, Valentine’s Day, as inspiration), you can always do it with fun and colorful style, killer gift ideas, and the ultimate excuse to “treat yo-self” or someone you love!

Let’s face it, winter gets pretty hard once the magic and romance of the Christmas season is behind us. For me, I’ve always wished that winter ends with Christmas so we can at least have something to look forward to and anticipate to get us through the long, cold months. However, we know the calendar doesn’t work that way, and weather (😉) we like it or not, we have to get ourselves through January…. February…. March... and sometimes a chilly April! So how do we do this?
